To learn more about this test and more we recommend booking in for our initial wellness appointment, where we can advice what test will be best suited to your health concerns and goals OR if you know what you want you can check out our functional testing packages HERE.
The SIBO test requires you to swallow a lactulose substance after a 24 hour preparatory diet. If bacteria is present in the small intestine, the bacteria will ferment the lactulose and produce hydrogen and / or methane, which is exhaled via the breath.
Breath samples are collected every 20 minutes for 3 hours in the comfort of your home.
Stool Test:
A stool test looks for antigens associated with H.pylori infection in your stool. This test requires you to submit a sample of your stool (faeces) to the lab and can be done in the comfort of your own home. This can also be added into the CDSA for a more comprehensive analysis.
Urea Breath Test:
A breath test requires you to consume either a urea containing liquid or capsule to test for the presence of H.pylori. If H. pylori is present in your gastrointestinal tract, the material will be broken down into carbon dioxide gas and detected in your breath.
