MEET GOLD COAST PSYCHOLOGIST VIOLETA

Violeta Psychologist and sexologist The Wellness Emporium

Qualifications: BPsychSc(Hons), PGDip in CBT and Integrative Therapies and GradCert in Sexuality Studies. Fluent in Spanish & English

Hello there! I’m Violeta, a registered Psychologist dedicated to providing a holistic approach to therapy. In my work, I embody a caring, empathetic, and warm presence, committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward well-being. My focus is on nurturing a supportive, transparent, and secure connection, collaboratively building a safe and nonjudgmental relationship throughout our shared therapeutic journey.

I prefer to work from a positive and holistic perspective, aiming to consider the whole person and their unique circumstances. This involves fostering a comprehensive understanding of their challenges within the broader context of their life. In my therapeutic practice, I strive to empower each of my clients by exploring emotional, psychological, relational, and cultural factors contributing to their overall well-being. This journey encourages a deeper connection with themselves and the present moment.

In my everyday practice, I integrate various evidence-based theories such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, EMDR and Positive Psychology Interventions.

Throughout my career, I’ve committed myself to assisting individuals navigating a wide spectrum of mental health challenges in diverse settings. I hold a special enthusiasm for addressing anxiety, low self-esteem, loss of motivation, emotional and interpersonal challenges, and concerns related to different aspects of sexuality (such as issues with sexual desire, pain during intercourse, traumas, fertility, menopause, gender, and sexual identity, etc.). My understanding of sexuality is rooted in a holistic perspective, acknowledging its complexity and interconnectedness with physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions. This involves recognising and honouring diverse experiences, fostering a positive relationship with one’s body, and acknowledging the influence of cultural, social, and relational factors on sexual well-being.

Welcome to Part 1 of our 3-part series on Gut Health during Perimenopause and Menopause!
In this video, Elisha explains that as estradiol drops towards the end of the menopausal transition, our microbiome actually shifts. We can lose our protective lactobacillus-dominant microbiome, shifting more towards a "male-type" microbiome.

What does this mean for you? This shift in microbes can trigger frustrating new physical symptoms, including:
✨ Unexplained bloating
✨ Changes in your bowel movements
✨ An overgrowth of microbes like candida

You don't have to navigate these uncomfortable changes alone. Elisha consults online and is here to help you support your gut and hormones from the comfort of your home.

We hear the word "lazy" in the clinic almost every We hear the word "lazy" in the clinic almost every single day. "I should be doing more, I'm just being lazy." But when we actually look at what's happening underneath, it is almost never laziness.

Laziness is a choice that feels good - you decide to do nothing, and you enjoy it. What most of my clients are actually experiencing is nervous system depletion. It is the frustrating, heavy experience of deeply wanting to do the things, but completely lacking the biological bandwidth to make it happen. If you've been beating yourself up for not functioning at 100%, consider this your gentle permission to stop. Your body isn't failing you; it's asking for genuine recovery.

Save this post for the next time your inner critic gets loud. When you're ready to rebuild that capacity without the guilt, our psychology team is here to help. 🌿

This is what a targeted gut-clearing protocol look This is what a targeted gut-clearing protocol looks like. 🌿

If you are dealing with chronic bloating, SIBO, or suspected dysbiosis, you need more than just a basic daily probiotic.... Jenaya, our clinic manager and herbal dispenser is making up a custom antimicrobial blend today using Pomegranate, Oregano, Thyme, Clove, and Chamomile for one of Chae's clients
.
The potent antimicrobials (Oregano, Thyme, and Clove) work to weed out the bad bacteria, while Pomegranate acts as a powerful astringent and Chamomile gently soothes the gut lining to prevent irritation. 🌼✨

Healing your gut is an inside job, and it starts with targeted herbal medicine. Link in our bio to start your gut-healing journey with Naturopath Chae, Erika or Elisha! 🌱

We see it all the time in clinic: patients come in We see it all the time in clinic: patients come in with a shopping bag full of amazing supplements, feeling so defeated because nothing is working. It’s like trying to water a plant in bone-dry, hard soil, the water just runs off the top! We have to gently tend to the soil (your gut lining) so it can actually receive the nourishment you are giving it. Taking care of your digestion is truly the highest form of self-care.

🍋 Our Clinical Tip: If you frequently feel heavy or bloated after eating protein, you likely have low stomach acid. Try mixing 1 tablespoon of raw, unpasteurised Apple Cider Vinegar in a tiny splash of water and taking it like a shot 10 minutes before your main meals.

Stop wasting your money on supplements you aren't absorbing. Let us design a step-by-step gut healing programme for you in clinic. Head to our bio to book a consultation online and let's fix the foundation! ✨

Last week, we shared the recipe for Jenaya’s go-to daily breakfast - packed with fibre, protein and plenty of goodness to keep her fuelled through to lunch after a big morning of training.
Now it’s time to top the goodness!

Homemade Dark Choco/Coco crackle - mix you fav dark choc with some coconut oil in the microwave and topp your puddings to add a extra crunch with each pudding!

Jenaya makes her own homemade granola, and it couldn’t be simpler. Add your favourite seeds and nuts to a tray, drizzle with honey and coconut oil, then bake for around 10 minutes until golden and crunchy.

For Jenaya’s mix:
Buckinis, Pepitas, Chopped Brazil nuts, Almond flakes, Pumpkin seeds, Shredded coconut, Diced almonds

Once your granola is ready, layer up your chia pudding with coconut yoghurt, fresh berries and that crunchy homemade goodness.

Gut symptoms like bloating, energy crashes, and br Gut symptoms like bloating, energy crashes, and brain fog are so common that a lot of us just live with them, but 'common' doesn't mean 'normal.'

Your digestive system is meant to break down food efficiently, absorb nutrients properly, and keep you feeling steady through the day. When it's not doing that, it usually means something upstream needs attention — whether that's:

- Stress and nervous system dysregulation
- An imbalance in gut bacteria
- Food sensitivities
- Or something else entirely

A proper naturopathic assessment can get to the root of it rather than just managing symptoms one at a time. If more than one of these signs sounds familiar, it might be time to dig a little deeper.

Save this post so you can check back in, and when you're ready, you can book a naturopathic consult directly through our website. 🌿
