MEET GOLD COAST PSYCHOLOGIST VIOLETA

Violeta Psychologist and sexologist The Wellness Emporium

Qualifications: BPsychSc(Hons), PGDip in CBT and Integrative Therapies and GradCert in Sexuality Studies. Fluent in Spanish & English

Hello there! I’m Violeta, a registered Psychologist dedicated to providing a holistic approach to therapy. In my work, I embody a caring, empathetic, and warm presence, committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward well-being. My focus is on nurturing a supportive, transparent, and secure connection, collaboratively building a safe and nonjudgmental relationship throughout our shared therapeutic journey.

I prefer to work from a positive and holistic perspective, aiming to consider the whole person and their unique circumstances. This involves fostering a comprehensive understanding of their challenges within the broader context of their life. In my therapeutic practice, I strive to empower each of my clients by exploring emotional, psychological, relational, and cultural factors contributing to their overall well-being. This journey encourages a deeper connection with themselves and the present moment.

In my everyday practice, I integrate various evidence-based theories such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, EMDR and Positive Psychology Interventions.

Throughout my career, I’ve committed myself to assisting individuals navigating a wide spectrum of mental health challenges in diverse settings. I hold a special enthusiasm for addressing anxiety, low self-esteem, loss of motivation, emotional and interpersonal challenges, and concerns related to different aspects of sexuality (such as issues with sexual desire, pain during intercourse, traumas, fertility, menopause, gender, and sexual identity, etc.). My understanding of sexuality is rooted in a holistic perspective, acknowledging its complexity and interconnectedness with physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions. This involves recognising and honouring diverse experiences, fostering a positive relationship with one’s body, and acknowledging the influence of cultural, social, and relational factors on sexual well-being.

Feeling flat lately, like no matter how much you r Feeling flat lately, like no matter how much you rest, the spark just isn’t there?

Fatigue isn’t always about doing too much. Often, it’s about what your body isn’t getting. Low energy can stem from a mix of things — poor sleep, mental load, a diet lacking key nutrients, too much caffeine or sugar, digital overload, or even medications.

Our energy comes from our mitochondria — the little power plants inside our cells. They use oxygen, nutrients (like B vitamins, magnesium, iron, CoQ10, and vitamin C), and food to produce ATP — the actual energy we use to move, think, and feel well.

When you’re missing these essentials, your body starts to slow down. Brain fog creeps in. Motivation fades. You might feel wired but not rested, tired after waking, or simply not like yourself.

The good news? You can support your energy naturally. Start with simple, consistent habits:
• Eat real food that includes protein, healthy fats, and micronutrients
• Stay hydrated — it affects everything from your focus to metabolism
• Include iron, B12, and omega-3-rich foods
• Get outside in the morning light to reset your sleep-wake cycle
• Move a little each day — it actually boosts mitochondrial health
• Reduce digital noise and build in wind-down time at night
• Make space for rest, even if it’s just 5 quiet minutes a day

You don’t need a perfect routine — just small, regular steps that support your body’s ability to make energy and recover well.

📩 Call us if you're feeling stuck or want help creating a plan that works for your life, we are here to help!

Exhausted But Still Pushing Through? If you’re Exhausted But Still Pushing Through?
If you’re always tired but keep pushing anyway - you’re not alone. Many people come to us saying they feel flat, foggy, or wired-but-tired, even after a “restful” weekend or a good night’s sleep.

Here’s the thing: fatigue isn’t always about how much you’re doing. It’s often about what your body isn’t getting.

You might be running low on key nutrients like iron or B12. You could be dealing with poor blood sugar control from missed meals or too many stimulants. Maybe stress has your nervous system on high alert, and your sleep never feels truly restful. For some, it’s a sign of deeper health concerns like burnout, thyroid changes, or chronic inflammation.

What shows up as brain fog, low motivation, or muscle heaviness isn’t just a mindset issue — it’s your body waving the white flag.

Instead of pushing harder, try asking what your body is missing.

Start small:
• Eat whole meals at regular times
• Create space in your day for quiet, not just sleep
• Hydrate more than you think you need
• Move gently, not excessively
• Limit caffeine and blood sugar highs and crashes

If you’ve been exhausted for a while, there’s usually more than one reason why. Let’s help you explore it - with proper testing and assessment with our naturopaths or dietitian, food-first strategies, and support that makes sense for your life.

📩 DM us or tap the link in bio to book a nutrition or naturopathic consult. We’ll guide you back to better energy, one step at a time.

Could Mould Be Causing Your Fatigue? Let’s Talk Could Mould Be Causing Your Fatigue? Let’s Talk CIRS
Still feeling wiped out even after trying everything — sleep, supplements, stress management? It might be time to consider what’s in the air around you. Literally.

CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) is a condition where the immune system stays in a chronic state of inflammation after exposure to biotoxins — often from mould in water-damaged buildings.

Here’s what happens:
Your immune system detects a threat (like mould spores) but doesn’t switch off. This ongoing response affects the mitochondria — your body’s energy producers — leading to symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, weakness, poor sleep, and low motivation. You might feel “just tired,” but no amount of rest seems to help.

Mould exposure can sometimes go unnoticed — maybe from a past water leak, damp room, or poorly ventilated area. But for some people, that exposure can trigger long-lasting health effects.

If this feels familiar, here are a few simple steps to start:
🧪 Try a VCS Test (Visual Contrast Sensitivity) online — a quick screen for biotoxin effects: www.vcstest.com
🏠 Check your home or workspace for signs of mould, dampness, or musty smells
🩺 Work with a healthcare provider who understands mould-related illness and chronic fatigue (FYI our Naturopath Elisha is your lady when it comes to mould!)

Fatigue isn’t always about doing too much. Sometimes, it’s about what your body’s been exposed to — and how it’s still trying to recover.

Why You’re Always Tired: Let’s Talk Fatigue Fe Why You’re Always Tired: Let’s Talk Fatigue
Feeling tired no matter how much sleep you get? You’re not just imagining it — fatigue goes deeper than being “a bit tired.”

Fatigue can show up as brain fog, low motivation, sore muscles, forgetfulness, or even emotional burnout. And while some causes are obvious (late nights or stress), others are less talked about — like nutrient deficiencies, hormone imbalances, or even mitochondrial dysfunction at the cellular level.

Short-term fatigue might come and go, but if it lasts longer than 6 months and impacts daily life, it could be chronic. This kind of fatigue is often linked to conditions like depression, cardiovascular issues, hormonal shifts, or blood sugar imbalances.

So, what’s behind it? Some of the most common factors include low levels of iron, B12, magnesium, or vitamin D. Sleep disorders, chronic stress, and even environmental toxins (like mould or poor air quality) can play a part too.

Start small with practical changes. Eat balanced, whole-food meals rich in iron, protein, and healthy fats. Stay hydrated. Limit caffeine and processed foods. Move your body daily — even a gentle walk helps. Prioritise sleep and explore stress support that works for you — whether that’s meditation, stretching, or talking to someone.

If your energy is still low despite these changes, chat with one of our naturopaths who can help you dig deeper, request testing and optimise your nutrient levels. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, but there are always next steps worth exploring.

💩 Can’t poop? Try these 5 tips to get things 💩 Can’t poop? Try these 5 tips to get things moving!

Constipation is more common than you think — but the fix might be simpler than you expect. Here are 5 natural ways to support healthy, regular bowel movements:

🥝 1. Eat 1–2 Kiwi Fruits Daily
Kiwi is packed with fiber and an enzyme called actinidin, which softens stool and boosts bowel regularity.

🌿 2. Try a Castor Oil Pack
Used for centuries (and a personal fave for 10+ years!) — castor oil packs increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and support digestion. Apply with heat to your abdomen for 30 mins.

💧 3. Drink 2.5L of Filtered Water Daily
Hydration = elimination. And filtered water is key — chlorine in tap water can dehydrate your body and your bowels.

🍴 4. Chew Your Food Well
Digestion starts in your mouth! Chewing thoroughly helps prevent bloating and keeps things flowing.

🧘‍♀️ 5. Take Magnesium Citrate (300–900mg)
Magnesium relaxes the gut muscles and draws water into the intestines — making it a gentle, natural constipation remedy.

✨ Sometimes it’s the simple things that make a big difference.

🌴✨ How Does Your Gut Feel on Holiday? ✨🌴 🌴✨ How Does Your Gut Feel on Holiday? ✨🌴

Ever noticed your gut behaves so much better on holiday? No bloating, regular bowel movements, and suddenly you’re eating foods you’d normally avoid without issues? 🥐🍕

It’s not magic—it’s stress.

When our body is stuck in fight or flight mode, digestion takes a back seat. But on holidays, we shift into rest and digest, allowing things to calm down and function as they should. If your symptoms vanish while relaxing, stress could be the root cause! 🌿💆‍♀️

On the flip side, if your symptoms worsen on holidays, it might point towards functional issues like leaky gut, bacterial overgrowth, or SIBO—areas that need deeper investigation. 🩺✨
