Broadbeach sits at the heart of the Gold Coast — a vibrant, busy area where the demands of professional life, relationships, and a high-paced lifestyle can quietly take a toll. At The Wellness Emporium, we support individuals from Broadbeach and across the central Gold Coast with evidence-based, holistic psychology that goes deeper than surface-level coping strategies.
Our Burleigh Heads clinic is a short drive south, and telehealth consultations are available for those who prefer to book from wherever they are.
What Does a Psychologist Do?

Supporting Burnout and Workplace Stress
Burnout is more than feeling tired. It’s a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion that builds gradually — often in people who care deeply about what they do. Left unaddressed, it affects every part of life: work performance, relationships, sleep, and sense of self.
Our psychology team works with people experiencing burnout, workplace stress, and the kind of chronic pressure that accumulates when you’re always pushing through. We help you understand what’s driving your exhaustion and build sustainable strategies to recover — not just cope.
Our Approach to Care

We don’t separate your mind from your body, your history from your present, or your nervous system from your symptoms. At The Wellness Emporium, holistic psychology means treating the whole person — not just the diagnosis.
Our psychologists integrate evidence-based modalities with an understanding of how lifestyle, relationships, hormones, and lived experience all shape your mental health. Because lasting change rarely comes from one angle alone.
Therapy Approaches
Our psychologists draw from a wide range of evidence-based approaches (depending on their training and your individual needs), including:
- Trauma-Informed Interventions (working with the body, inner child work)
- Attachment Work
- Mindfulness, Meditation & Body Work
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
- Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Schema Therapy
- Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Solution Focused Therapy
- Positive Psychology and Psychoeducation
- Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
- Motivational Interviewing
- Gottman Method Couples Therapy
- Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
- Neurodiversity-Affirming Practice
- Trauma-Informed Practice
Spotlight: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is particularly well-suited to high-achieving people who find themselves feeling stuck, exhausted, or disconnected despite doing everything ‘right.’ Rather than fighting difficult thoughts and feelings, ACT helps you build psychological flexibility — responding to life’s challenges in ways that are aligned with what actually matters to you.
It is evidence-based, practical, and highly effective for burnout, anxiety, and depression.

What to Expect at Your First Psychology Appointment

During your initial appointment, your psychologist will take time to get to know you, your goals, and your concerns. Together, you’ll develop a plan to work towards.
Many people feel some anxiety before seeing a psychologist for the first time — that’s completely normal. Our team is here to make you feel comfortable and supported from the moment you arrive. Some people find it helpful to jot down a few notes beforehand — goals, concerns, or things you’ve been struggling with. Come as you are. We’ll take it from there.

- Therapeutic approach — does it align with what you’re looking for?
- Areas of experience — does the psychologist have experience with your concerns?
- Communication style — do you feel comfortable and heard?
- Accessibility — are telehealth options available if you need them?
