MEET GOLD COAST NATUROPATH CHAE

Hi! I’m Chae, Naturopath, Educator, Speaker & founder of The Wellness Emporium on the Gold Coast.

With 9+ years of experience helping thousands of clients as a naturopath, I’m passionate about inspiring, empowering, and educating others to reclaim their health through a holistic, personalised approach. My philosophy centres on uncovering the root causes of health concerns—never just treating symptoms. Through in-depth consultations, detailed health histories, functional testing, and emotional exploration, I create realistic and supportive wellness plans that meet each person exactly where they are.

I have a particular love for all things microbiome. My postgraduate studies and research span the gut, vaginal, and skin microbiomes, with a strong focus on the gut-brain connection and how emotions and trauma influence gut health (and how gut health, in turn, shapes our mental and emotional well-being). To deepen this expertise, I have completed advanced postgraduate training including:

  • a 6-month mentorship and education program with Dr. Moira Bradfield, qualifying as an Accredited Intimate Ecologist in the vaginal microbiome, and

  • Dr. Jason Hawrelak’s intensive 10-week course on Naturopathic and Functional Medicine Approaches to Gastrointestinal Health, earning certification as a Healthy Gut Practitioner with the Microbiome Restoration Centre.

My passion for digestive health, skin concerns, and women’s health stems from my own lived experience. Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at just 10 years old, much of my childhood was spent in and out of hospitals, navigating medications, flare-ups, and the uncertainty of chronic illness. Later, I also faced PCOS, endometriosis, cystic acne, hypothyroidism, and emotional challenges such as PTSD, anxiety, POTS, MCAS, and OCD. I know firsthand how much health struggles can impact every part of life – relationships, career, even the food you eat and the clothes you wear.

But I also know the power of healing, of finding the right support, and of reclaiming your body. That’s why I created Heal Her Gut – to bring together my professional expertise and personal journey, and to offer even more education, connection, and hope to others walking the same path.

Today, I blend science, compassion, and lived wisdom to support my clients in creating long-lasting change. My mission is to show you that you don’t have to settle for just “getting by” – you can truly thrive.

Join me on this journey, and let’s transform your health from the inside out.

"It’s all in your head" is one of the biggest myth "It’s all in your head" is one of the biggest myths about anxiety. What you're experiencing is a very real, full-body physical response. 🧠🌩️

When anxiety hits, your brain perceives a threat and pulls the internal alarm. Within seconds, your nervous system shifts into "fight or flight" mode, flooding your bloodstream with cortisol and adrenaline. Your heart rate speeds up, your breathing gets shallow, and blood rushes away from your organs to your limbs.

This is exactly why anxiety instantly hits your stomach. Your digestive system essentially shuts down to conserve energy, causing that famous "knot," nausea, or sudden bloating.

But here is the empowering part: you can manually turn the alarm off. 🌿
You can't always logic your way out of anxiety, but you can breathe your way out of it. Slow, deep belly breaths, feeling the sun on your skin, or physically grounding your bare feet in the grass sends a biological "I am safe" signal straight to your brain, shifting you back into "rest and digest" mode.

Your body isn't working against you; it's just trying to protect you. The next time the panic sets in, step outside and take three deep breaths with us. ☀️

Want to heal your gut? The absolute first thing yo Want to heal your gut? The absolute first thing you need to do might surprise you: stop drinking liquids with your meals. 🛑💦
It is such a common habit, but gulping down drinks—and especially carbonated beverages—while you eat is a major roadblock for your digestion.
Here is why:

It dilutes your digestive juices: Your stomach needs strong acid and enzymes to break down food properly. Flooding it with liquid weakens that environment, leading to sluggish digestion and fermentation.

Carbonation adds trapped gas: Fizzy drinks introduce extra air directly into your digestive tract, which is a fast track to severe bloating and discomfort.

The Fix: Try to stop drinking fluids 30 minutes before you eat, and wait about 30 to 45 minutes after your meal to hydrate. If you absolutely need something to help get your food down, stick to tiny sips of room-temperature water.

Are you guilty of drinking a massive glass of water (or a sparkling drink!) with dinner? Let me know in the comments! 👇

When the world feels too loud and your nervous sys When the world feels too loud and your nervous system is in overdrive, sometimes you need a little extra support from nature. 🌿

Stress has a way of becoming so normalised that we Stress has a way of becoming so normalised that we stop noticing the physical signs it's leaving behind:a tight jaw, shallow breathing, disrupted sleep, a stomach that's never quite settled.

These aren't separate, unrelated issues; they're often your nervous system's way of telling you it's been running on high alert for too long. Left unaddressed, chronic stress doesn't just affect how you feel day to day, it can genuinely impact your digestion, immunity and long-term mental health.

The good news is stress management isn't about eliminating every stressor in your life, it's about giving your nervous system real tools to come back down. Whether that looks like naturopathic support for the physical toll or working with a psychologist on what's driving it, we can help you look at both sides.

Save this post and check in with yourself this week, and when you're ready for support, you can book online through our website — thewellnessemporium.com.au

GUT HEALTH SERIES: PART 3 🥗🥂 In our final video o GUT HEALTH SERIES: PART 3 🥗🥂

In our final video of the series, Elisha shares two major dietary tips for protecting your gut during perimenopause and menopause!

🍷 Minimize Alcohol: We hate to kill the party, but too much alcohol will negatively impact your microbiome. Minimizing it is a great step for your gut health.

🌾 Fiber is King: Pay extra attention to your diet and get as much fiber as you can tolerate. A healthy microbiome should be able to handle a wide variety of plant foods.

Struggling to tolerate certain foods? Don't just remove them! Going restrictive and removing prebiotic fibers can actually starve your good bacteria and lead to a vicious cycle of other issues. Instead, it’s crucial to investigate why your body isn't tolerating them so you can address the root cause.

Elisha is here to help you figure out exactly what is going on with your gut. She consults online so you can get expert care from anywhere.

Stress is one of those things almost everyone expe Stress is one of those things almost everyone experiences but very few people are taught how to actually manage, so a lot of misinformation fills the gap.

The truth is stress isn't just a mindset issue; it has real physiological effects on your body, and 'just push through it' is often the advice that leads to burnout rather than away from it.

On the flip side, you don't need to overhaul your entire life to feel the benefit, small, sustainable changes to how you regulate your nervous system day to day tend to make a bigger difference than dramatic, short-lived changes.

If stress has been building for a while and you're not sure where to start, that's exactly what we're here for.
