GUT HEALTH SERIES: PART 3 🥗🥂 In our final video o GUT HEALTH SERIES: PART 3 🥗🥂

In our final video of the series, Elisha shares two major dietary tips for protecting your gut during perimenopause and menopause!

🍷 Minimize Alcohol: We hate to kill the party, but too much alcohol will negatively impact your microbiome. Minimizing it is a great step for your gut health.

🌾 Fiber is King: Pay extra attention to your diet and get as much fiber as you can tolerate. A healthy microbiome should be able to handle a wide variety of plant foods.

Struggling to tolerate certain foods? Don't just remove them! Going restrictive and removing prebiotic fibers can actually starve your good bacteria and lead to a vicious cycle of other issues. Instead, it’s crucial to investigate why your body isn't tolerating them so you can address the root cause.

Elisha is here to help you figure out exactly what is going on with your gut. She consults online so you can get expert care from anywhere.

Stress is one of those things almost everyone expe Stress is one of those things almost everyone experiences but very few people are taught how to actually manage, so a lot of misinformation fills the gap.

The truth is stress isn't just a mindset issue; it has real physiological effects on your body, and 'just push through it' is often the advice that leads to burnout rather than away from it.

On the flip side, you don't need to overhaul your entire life to feel the benefit, small, sustainable changes to how you regulate your nervous system day to day tend to make a bigger difference than dramatic, short-lived changes.

If stress has been building for a while and you're not sure where to start, that's exactly what we're here for.

If you are logging 8 hours of sleep but still waki If you are logging 8 hours of sleep but still waking up feeling like you’ve run a marathon, your nervous system might be stuck in "threat" mode. Sleep isn't restorative if your body doesn't feel safe enough to truly power down.

Healing chronic fatigue starts with looking at your waking hours: where are you rushing, masking, or pushing through? 🌿💤

Ever notice how stress instantly hits your stomach Ever notice how stress instantly hits your stomach?

That’s the gut-brain connection at work.

Taking a few minutes to breathe in fresh air and move your body isn’t just about clearing your head, it actively signals your digestive system to relax and do its job.

When you shift out of “fight or flight,” your whole body heals. How do you reset when you’re overwhelmed?

Have you ever noticed that you can feel like a com Have you ever noticed that you can feel like a completely different version of yourself depending on who you are around or where you are? 🤔

We spend so much time analyzing our symptoms, our mood shifts, our anxiety spikes, our sudden dips in energy, but how often do we actually stop and look at our environment?

It’s so common to overlook the space we are in and the people we are surrounding ourselves with when we are trying to figure out why we feel a certain way. Your nervous system is constantly reading your environment. A significant difference in your mood or anxiety might not mean there is something "wrong" with you; it might just be a natural response to what is happening in your life right then and there.
How often are you pausing to check in and notice how your surroundings are actively shaping your present state?

Take a moment today to pause and ask yourself:
🌱 How does this space make me feel?
🌱 How do I feel when I am around this person?
🌱 Is my environment supporting my nervous system, or draining it?

People often think burnout just means needing a re People often think burnout just means needing a really long nap. But in the therapy room, burnout usually looks a lot more like numbness, cynicism, and a brain that simply refuses to hold onto any more information.

It's walking into a room and forgetting why you're there. It's feeling resentful when someone asks you for a minor favor. It's staying up until 2 AM scrolling just to feel like you have some control over your own time. Burnout doesn't happen because you are weak; it happens when you've been strong, capable, and 'pushing through' for far too long without a genuine pause.

If you recognise yourself in these slides, please know that a weekend away isn't going to fix it - and that is not your fault. You need proper structural support and nervous system recovery. Save this as a reminder that you aren't broken, just deeply exhausted. When you're ready for real support, we are here.

Did you know your stress levels directly impact your gut?
In Part 2 of our Menopause & Perimenopause Gut Health series, Elisha breaks down why stress management is absolutely essential for everyone.

Because of the gut-brain connection, our microbes actually change in response to stress hormones and shifts in motility. For many women, perimenopause becomes a "perfect storm" of life stress combined with major hormonal changes.

Elisha’s top advice? If you don't already have a practice like breathing, meditation, or yoga, it is time to consider starting one!

Ready to support your body and mind through this transition? Elisha consults entirely online, making it easy to get expert support from home.

The hard truth about overthinking: we often use it The hard truth about overthinking: we often use it as a shield to avoid feeling our actual feelings.

If I can just analyze this interaction from every possible angle, maybe I won't have to feel the sting of rejection. If I can plan for every single worst-case scenario, maybe I won't have to sit with the vulnerability of the unknown. Our brains try to ""solve"" our emotions because feeling them physically in the body is uncomfortable. But you cannot logic your way out of a feeling - trying to do so just keeps you stuck in an exhausting mental loop.

Learning to drop out of the overthinking mind and safely process the emotion in your body is exactly what we work on in session.

If you're ready to unpack this properly, you can book a consult directly through our website. 💛

A gentle reminder to find quiet moments, even when A gentle reminder to find quiet moments, even when you’re on holiday. 🕊️️✨

It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle of travel, rushing between landmarks, packing the itinerary, and trying to see and do it all. But true rest happens in the pauses.

Whether it's sipping a slow coffee, taking a mindful walk through a new city, or simply sitting quietly on a bench here in Orleans, giving your nervous system a moment to settle is just as important as the sightseeing. You don't have to be "on" the entire trip.

Love,
